
Information for Participating Artists:

Exhibition Dates: June 6 – June 22, 2025
Gallery Hours: Friday 6 – 9 pm; Saturday and Sunday 2 – 6 pm
Opening Reception: Friday June 6, 2025

Artists who have signed up to participate are welcome to bring two pieces for the show. Number of overall entries and space considerations will determine whether both submissions can be included.

Exhibiting artists need to have a current membership for the Gallery, the cost is $10/year. Please renew your membership by e-transfer to schoolhouseartgallery@gmail.com or send a cheque payable to Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery to Box 203, Whaletown, BC, V0P 1Z0.

Dropping off your work: The Gallery will be open to receive works on Friday May 30 from 3 pm – 7 pm and Saturday May 31 from 10 am - 2 pm.
​
Artworks must be in ready to hang condition, securely mounted with appropriate hardware affixed for hanging and display.
​
When you arrive at the gallery, we will ask you to fill out a form to identify your work and provide the information we need to create tags for the exhibition. We will be asking for the following information:

1. Artist name
2. Title of artwork, Year of artwork
3. Media or materials
4. Price or NFS
5. Brief artist statement – this can be dropped off with your work or emailed to Christann at schoolhouseartgallery@gmail.com.

Gallery Hosting: Participating Artists agree to take a shift during Gallery hours to host the show. Gallery hosts will be required to open and/or close the Gallery, welcome visitors, and make sales. We will be creating a schedule for Gallery hosting when you drop off your work.
​
Opening Night: The Gallery will provide a complimentary wine bar for the opening reception, including a liquor licence and server. The Gallery will also provide mineral water as a non-alcoholic option, and small paper plates and napkins for the potluck table. Participating artists agree to contribute something delicious to the potluck table of finger foods for the opening.
​
Picking up your work: Artists will pick up their work after the show closes. The Gallery will be open for pick-up on Sunday, June 22 from 6 pm – 7 pm (not before 6 pm) and Monday June 23, from 10 am – 2 pm. All work must be collected before 2 pm on Monday.

Please note: The Gallery does not carry insurance coverage for exhibited pieces; artists are responsible for coverage of their own artworks, if needed.
